Amanda's Fashion Spot Concert Ready Looks!

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a concert by one and of my favourite singers, none other than Justin Timberlake! From his N'Sync days to his first solo album Justified to his hilarious comedy sketches on Saturday Night Live and now his latest album, The 20/20 Experience, I have been charmed by Mr. Timberlake since a teenager. While preparing my outfit for a night of dancing to "Cry Me A River" and "Suit & Tie" I started to think about what essential items would create a look that is suitable for a concert, items that when worn together instantly say, "concert ready". Of course, when putting together a "concert ready" look wearing a concert T-shirt is a given, but there are definitely more fashionable pieces that make your outfit just right to wear at your favourite musical performance. Having a "concert ready"look goes beyond the outfit, it includes your make-up as well and the right beauty look is the cherry on the sundae of a perfect "concert ready" look.

Scroll down below to see the what pieces I consider to be essential elements of a "concert ready" look!

1. The Sequin Blazer

Over the years, blazers have become a wardrobe staple for most girls. They are figure-flattering, can be worn with a multitude of outfits and sometimes function as a light jacket in the spring and fall. Sequins are synonymous with fun, parties and happy times, making them a special event staple whether they are on skirts, dresses, handbags or blazers! The marriage between the two staples creates an essential piece for a "concert ready" look. When you are dancing away and getting lost in the music at your favourite concert, the sequin blazer will compliment your shape and look glamorous at the exact same time! Sequin blazers also look great when worn over a concert T-shirt.

2. The Quilted Bag

As you are enjoying yourself while watching your favourite musical artist perform, the last thing you want to do is search through a large, clunky bag as you look for your camera phone because you want to capture the moment for your Instagram page! A small quilted bag is the perfect size and style for a "concert ready" look because it allows you just enough space for your cash, lipstick, keys and phone (and just enough style to make your standout in the crowd).

3. The Shiny Leggings

Depending on the musical genre of the concert that you go to, you may feel inclined to wear loose fitting pants. However, if you want comfort, style and something that does not run the risk of getting trampled on when you are twerking away (jokes!), then I suggest wearing shiny leggings as they are fun, edgy and, somewhat simple, all in one. Shiny leggings also would work well with a loose-fitting concert T-shirt, sequin blazer, quilted bag and the beauty looks below!

4. The Bold Lip

The bold lip is classic and statement-making. With such a strong shade on your pout, your entire look will definitely be taken the next level. You can either go with a red or pink shade and if you want to be a bit daring and on-trend, try spring's tangerine lip.

5. The Smoky Eye

Sultry, mysterious and, transformative is what makes the smoky eye a staple for so many women. With the swipe of some dark shadow across your eyelids, you can go from a day look to a "concert ready" look in a few minutes.

When creating your beauty "concert ready" look, I suggest wearing either the bold lip or smoky eye separately and not together as it will look a little too glamorous. As much as I love glamour, sometimes it is best to rein it in a little bit.
