Hey Shopaholics! It's Frugal Fashion Week Rosedale-Summerhill this weekend!

While you are trying to survive this sweltering summer heat wave, why not take your body temperature down a notch and look at some cool fashion?

This year marks the fourth anniversary of Frugal Fashion Week, a fashion week created to "encourage support of local retail/design communities" which is taking place in the chic Rosedale-Summerhill neighbourhood celebrating all that their fabulous boutiques have to offer!

The week kicked off yesterday at Roots Canada with an evening soiree praising Roots' dedication to Canadian craftsmanship in an event entitled, Made in Canada. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend but judging from Frugal Fashion Week's twitter page @fiercefrugalfab , it was a fabulous event indeed!

Tonight, make your way to The Narwhal at 101-8 Price Street for LIVE.LOVE.SHOP. where you can purchase their wonderful items for up to 60% off and take a sneak peak at the fall/winter 2012 collections! The Narwhal sells a wide range of collections with an emphasis on ones that are handmade in North America, so not only will you be adding to your wardrobe but you will be supporting locally made products as well. Double the shopping fun! Tickets are an affordable $10 so head down there and be sure to shop, shop, shop!

On Saturday, start your morning off at Nyood Restaurant for LE POP! a brunch and pop-up shop in one! Organized by fashion blogger Dylan Dias and Frugal Fashion Week, enjoy a delicious brunch of strawberries and french toast served with refreshing mimosas, while you browse some of the upcoming collections of local and emerging designers. Brunch reservations begin at 11 am with tickets being $25. The pop-up shop is free and open to the public! Click here to register.

Frugal Fashion Week wraps up on Sunday with a DIY Shop Crawl in Rosedale-Summerhill. Venture  out on your lazy Sunday and see what the stylish boutiques have to offer!

Just when you needed another reason to attend this shopping event there is one more, all the proceeds from Frugal Fashion Week 2012 benefit The Stiletto Project's 1000 Acts of Frugal, an organization that collects and donates clothing from stylish Toronto women to provide easy access for at-risk women to wear affordable, trendy clothing.
