Photo of the day: I AM A STYLEITE!

As I mentioned awhile back, the Toronto-based fashion blog has a feature called Styleite that highlights the latest and greatest stylistas in not only the fashion industry but everyday people too. The latest Styleite to grace the web space of is none other than the creative force behind Amanda's Fashion Spot , moi! Look above to read about all of my fashion favourites including cameo rings and Chanel bags as well as my style philosophy. Here is what I had to say about my style favourites:

When we were a university student, our main concerns were getting good grades and finding a part-time job that could provide us with enough beer money for our Thursday night pub crawls.  Nowadays, in between attending classes and hitting the books, fashion students are watching the runways, reading,  and even finding the time to write about their sartorial wonderings on their very own blogs (a much better habit than nursing a post-Thursday night hangover we might add).  Enter Amanda Stines.  This student-by-day fashion blogger-by night uses her site, Amandas Fashion Spot, as a platform to discuss all things “chic and feminine”, from coverage at fashion events like LG Fashion Week to her fashionable travels to NYC and beyond.  We particularly enjoyed her coverage of the Royal Wedding (it was Amanda who taught us about the Carrickmacross lace used in Kate’s dress).
All About Amanda
Style Icons: “Gwenyth Paltrow, Olivia Palermo, my aunt, Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Rivers”
Favorite Shops: “Bloomingdales, The Bay, Club Monaco, Joe Freh and Zara”
Shopping Philosophy:“Everyday is dress up day! Colour is your best friend! Don’t be afraid to take risks because it is better to be the most dressed up person at an event than the underdressed.”
Amanda’s Picks:
House of Harlow ‘Violet’ wedge sandals – $250 at
Chanel Classic Flap Bag – price upon request at Chanel
Alex Woo Little Signs Bull Taurus necklace – $158 at Alex Woo“Every once in a while I like to add a little bit of kitsch to my look and this necklace adds to that while still being tasteful.”
Zara pink blazer- $79.90 at Zara“I have really dark hair so I love to wear bright colors that constrast with my hair. I like this look because it shows that combining contrasting colours in one outfit can work so long as the cut of the clothes are simple.  Otherwise it looks tacky.  I also love this outfit because each piece can be worn on its own and still make an impact.”
‘Liz’ Romper – $196 at Yumi Kim“Rompers are one of my favourite pieces because they are really comfortable and have the look of a modern, fashionable city girl.  I love this romper because of the loose fitting v-neck cut of the top juxtaposing with the geometric print of the bottom half.  The loose belt adds a nice casual and romantic touch.  This is something I would wear with tall wedges and an elaborate necklace.”
Vintage cameo ring – $968 at Anthropologie“I have a soft spot for vintage jewellery, especially from the Victorian era. This ring perfectly represents that because it combines a traditional, romantic and feminine esthetic that I like to incorporate in my look.  Cameo rings go great with any look that has light colours and a touch of lace.”
